InfoTrax turned to Merrell Remington to help market,
DataTrax - a direct sales distributor management system software package.
InfoTrax wanted to send a direct mail piece to the 500 prospective
customers planning on attending a conference where InfoTrax was an
exhibitor with this message - "InfoTrax is an industry leader
in enhancing the performance of a customer's direct sales infrastructure
through integrating the power of Web customer interface with IT operations."
How do you say that in English? The vehicle we chose was a three-dimensional
"tool box." Enclosed in the tool box were a series of "tools"
that represented different features of the DataTrax software-like
a Communication Enhancement Facilitation Device (which is actually
a cotton swab), or a Broadcast Message Capabilities Integrator (a
breath mint), etc. The message behind the piece was that the DataTrax
software was essentially a set of tools that a direct sales business
can employ to help its distributor management system run at peak efficiency.
